Who Is Really Pulling The Strings?

A few conspiracy theories here.

I read a few years ago that Tony Blair had been promised the job of president of Europe and that when that role came up that he would simply get it. I forget exactly what he did in order to get that role, but I know one of the things was stepping down at the right time and becoming a Catholic. Now at the time of writing I don’t know if Tony has yet put his hat in the ring but I think it is obvious that he will as the other hats are from people that hardly anyone has heard of. So if you can find someone to bet against Tony, hang on to them.

When Gordon Brown really started to screw it up publically as PM, David Miliband indicated that he would challenge his leadership. Yet all of a sudden, and it was a sudden reaction, he came out publically and endorsed Gordon the Moron. At the time I thought, what’s in it for him to do that? And last week it came out that he was the front runner in the EU foreign minister role…

Here’s an off the wall from how the meeting might have went…

Labour Puppeteer: Why do you want to challenge Gordon?

David Miliband: Because he’s a moron and will lose us the next election if someone competent doesn’t take over!

Labour Puppeteer: Here’s the facts David. We have really screwed up the country thanks to Gordon’s mistakes, so much so that we will lose the next election as we don’t have a chance of covering this mess up. The Tories will win and they will probably not even be able to sort it out either so they won’t be in for long and we’ll get another crack at it. So you don’t want to shoot your bolt yet…how about supporting the moron now and let him take the full fall for his mistakes. Whereas we’ll help you get a high profile job in the new EU bureaucratic bodge we are setting up, then you can really have the chance of power there instead?

David Miliband: I’ll get on the air now and back him!

Selling the Good Banks

I said when we stuck our guarantee down for the banks that we would make money for doing so and how this could really end up being a smart play by Gordon. Unfortunately this desperate, futile attempt to try and win the next election by being able to say he’s pulled us out of recession will cost us a fortune in the process (but he will have deniability here so he doesn’t care). The long game would definitely have been the right choice here as I said a long time ago.

They are going to go over to keeping the bad stuff and selling the good. Now in fairness, they will make a profit from it as they bought it at an all time low and right now it is worth a lot more money…well at least if they didn’t screw that up too.  I found myself watching the news with my mouth hanging open once again when I saw they were trying to do this, but I don’t know why I was shocked. So now they will rob us of revenue, jobs and an increased return on the investment we made, which was after all only a guarantee, not hard cash.

What’s more, it has been clearly shown that in times of trouble overseas investors withdraw their foreign investments first. So what will happen if the recession does get worse, or just lasts for a long time after a short trip back to positive growth – Do you think this will increase or decrease the flow of lending to the country? Once again Gordon the Moron has shown that he is doing more to damage the country than any other person in history.

Still these are only really conspiracy theories as I have no real facts and who knows, maybe he won’t be able to find anyone to buy the banks at this time (well, let’s hope so anyway). But then there is another spin that almost says – we are going to rob this rich corporation now and sell it on at a premium and then when the shares fall back down (because we know this recession is not going anywhere) we can pick it back up for pence in the pound.

That would take a fair bit of underhandedness though and I don’t think Gordon could think that far ahead.

Anyway, just a few conspiracies to think about.

Best wishes

Andy
